Scott R. Kidd
Scott is an Austin trial lawyer and appellate lawyer with broad courtroom experience. He has tried numerous cases to conclusion before judges and juries across the state, including breach of contract, fraud, lender liability, breach of warranty, premises liability, patent infringement, copyright infringement, misappropriation of trade secrets, legal malpractice, medical malpractice, deceptive trade practices, product liability, breach of fiduciary duty, defamation, wrongful death, and enforcement of noncompetition agreements.
After growing up in East Texas, Scott received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Rice University in 1969. He then entered the University of Texas School of Law, earning his law degree in 1972. After serving as a Briefing Attorney for the Fifth Court of Appeals in Dallas, Scott returned to Austin in 1974 to practice law.
Scott is Board Certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in both Civil Trial Law and Personal Injury Trial Law. He is listed in the publication Best Lawyers in America, and has been continually recognized as a Texas Super Lawyer by Texas Monthly Magazine and Law & Politics Media. Scott is a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers and an Advocate Member of the American Board of Trial Advocates. He also holds an “AV Preeminent” rating from Martindale Hubbell, the highest available rating in both legal ability and ethical standards.
